Wild Rumpus CIC is a social enterprise producing large-scale outdoor arts events, most often in wild natural landscapes. We believe that when people engage together in the highest quality arts in the great outdoors, something quite amazing can happen. We are looking for two highly motivated people to join our busy communications team and help tell our stories to audiences, the media and beyond. We’re looking for excellent communicators with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. Team players, with excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, with the drive to make their mark in the outdoor arts sector.

Wild Rumpus CIC is a social enterprise producing large-scale outdoor arts events, most often in wild natural landscapes. We believe that when people engage together in the highest quality arts in the great outdoors, something quite amazing can happen.

We produce extraordinary worlds, taking families out of their day to day lives into magical and enchanting places which can inspire, create moments of wonder and have a lasting impact.

Our events are underpinned by an extensive programme of work including research and evaluation, visual design, talent development, sustainability and accessibility.

We’re looking to fill two roles in our communications team:

Digital Content Co-ordinator 3 days per week £20,000 pa pro rata           

We’re looking for a creative, articulate person to create engaging content and deliver excellent customer service. You’ll be communicating with a range of communities including audiences, artists and volunteers. This role includes managing the website, the day-to-day running of social media accounts, creating and managing email campaigns, and managing social media advertising. You’ll working closely with our graphic designer to create and disseminate beautiful, charming and responsive content across all channels.

Press & PR Manager 2 days per week pro rata £25,000 pa pro rata

We’re looking for a press and PR manager to lead our conversation with press, audiences and stakeholders. You’ll be able to take a holistic view of Wild Rumpus, understanding how our events, artist development, talent development and commercial activities work together, and tell our story accordingly. You will lead on day to day media support, researching and drafting press releases and other articles, arranging interviews and other media opportunities, and building and maintaining relationships with local, regional and national media including bloggers.

Person specification 


Both roles

  • Some experience working in an arts administration environment
  • Demonstrable interest in Marketing & Communication
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and ability to shape content according to the platform and audience
  • Organised and flexible approach to multiple tasks and experience of working to deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative
  • Excellent IT skills and understanding of a wide range of web and software tools
  • Ability to be thoroughly knowledgeable about Wild Rumpus and its culture and activities
  • Understanding of and shared passion for family arts outdoors, and the ethos of Wild Rumpus
  • Understanding that this is a commercial role, with ticket sales targets and related KPIs
  • Desire to work in a woodland, and understanding that this involves insects and compost toilets as well as idyllic moments.

Digital Content Co-ordinator

  • Brilliant content creation skills
  • Curiosity and interest in discovering interesting content from within our team and out in the world
  • Experience in managing paid activity on social
  • Understanding of content across a range of social media platforms
  • Experience and confidence in using Facebook (including ad manager), Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Mailchimp
  • Experience of using  web content management systems (WordPress) & SEO tools (Yoast).

Press &  PR Manager

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with local, regional and national press
  • Experience and confidence in writing compelling press releases and distributing them effectively
  • Ability to spot stories in our work and lead on taking them forward
  • Confidence to speak in person about our events and activities
  • Ability to network effectively locally and regionally in order to build and maintain partnerships.

Location

We work from a woodland near Scholar Green in Cheshire, ST7 3QJ. The nearest station is Kidsgrove, 10 minutes by bike or 30 minutes walk.
