Timber is an extraordinary new camping festival exploring the transformative impact of forests, in the heart of the National Forest, one of Britain’s boldest environmental projects. Celebrating woodland culture in all its forms, join us for an intoxicating experience where music, art, philosophy and sustainability weave together into an unforgettable, exhilarating weekend.
Timber is created by The National Forest company in partnership with Wild Rumpus, award-winning producers of the Just So Festival and other outdoor arts and festival experiences.
The festival will take place on 5th, 6th and 7th July 2019 and our volunteering opportunities will be available between 1st – 9th July 2019. We have a range of volunteering roles available, below are an outline of the roles. Some roles require you to be with us for the whole week and others Thursday until Sunday night however we would love to see you for as long as possible so please feel free to stay with us for the duration if you are able.

Timber Volunteering Roles
The artist liaison team will look after our many artists on site and ensure they have everything they need. They’ll ensure the artists performance space is set up and the programme schedule is running on time.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 4th – 7th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience working with artists and/or enjoy working closely with creative people. You will need to be organised and have great communication skills
You’ll be part of a team that helps to create the wonderful setting for our event, working with our site crew, you’ll be moving and shifting in the week running up to the event. We’ll also call on our build team to help dismantle the site once the festival has finished.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 1st – 9th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience working with a production crew and enjoy physical work.
This team will be supporting our many workshops and craft activities on site, assisting families throughout the weekend.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 4th – 7th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience in creative workshops and give you an opportunity to spend time with our audience.
Our design team build the sets across site and you’ll be able to assist in the process, they’ll be lots of signs to be painted, bunting to be made and props to be built.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 1st – 7th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain design experience and/or enjoy physical work.
We pride ourselves on sustainability and leaving no trace. We have a dedicated team which you will work with to ensure our audience are recycling correctly and assisting us to leave the site as we found it.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 5th – 10th July and this role would suit you if you want to learn about sustainability and/or are passionate about the environment.
We’ll need help in the catering team to feed our volunteers and crew, you’ll become everyone’s favourite person on site! This team will be helping to prepare meals, set out the catering tent and much more.
For this role you’ll need to be available between 1st – 9th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience working with a large catering team and/or enjoy working behind the scenes.
Our audience will have lots of questions and need assistance at the event, our information team is crucial, you’ll be our team that is in the know! Providing maps of site, programme changes, phone charging, selling programmes and merchandise to list just a few!
For this role you’ll need to be available between 5th – 8th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience with dynamic problem solving and enjoy working with the general public with customer care skills a plenty!
Our stewards are the eyes and ears of the festival, assisting our audience as they navigate through the event. You’ll be working with our site crew to man gates, park cars and one of the first faces our excited audience will meet!
For this role you’ll need to be available between 4th – 8th July and this role would suit you if you want to gain experience working with a site crew and enjoy working with the general public.
