What better way to spend a day, than surrounded by creative pioneers in a woodland? Puppeteers, storytellers, musicians and theatre-makers, around a campfire, sharing their work. Each year, we run our woodland residency project, The Forge, opening up our woodland workspace up to a small group of artists to run riot for the summer, creating and developing work inspired by the outdoors. They set up workspaces and studios in vintage caravans and this year, our treehouse, and work together and apart, in a collaborative residency aimed at encouraging more great art to be created in and for natural landscapes. Last week we spent our first day with our 2016 cohort, and couldn’t be more excited about the projects that will be hammered out in the forge this summer.
